Question:
i have a large pimple inside my nose, on the right side. it's kind of hard and slightly painful when pressed. it's been there for five months now and it became larger. i always am in stress too. sometimes i miss sleep. what should i do?
i have bactroban applied just today because i searched in the internet about large pimples/boils.
what is the cause of this? what should i apply and do in order to get rid of this large pimple?

It may be more than just a pimple, it could be a localized infection. That area of the face is very sensitive, it is the closest connection the brain has to the outside. Thus any infection or trauma to the area could be potentially lethal or disastrous. If it has been there for five months, Bactroban (Mupirocin) might be inadequate to treat it, you may require oral antibiotics or a procedure requiring incision/surgical intervention. I suggest you see a rhinologist (ENT doctor/otorhinolaryngologist) as soon as you are able. Do not manipulate it any more than you have to beyond keeping your nostrils clean. Yours, DrGeorge303
