Question:
Hi Doc! I have itching in my legs beside my genital area on the left side and it includes my balls. It has been ten months now and I still have it. The skin which is infected has no water on it but if I scratch it will get swollen and it connect to my belly button. It makes a tingling sensation under my belly button when the itching activates. I just want to know what kind of disease is this and what is the remedy. Thank you.
Doctor George's reply:
Have you ever seen a dermatologist for this condition? Have you started self-medicating? Does the condition seem to be worsened by the intake of certain food? Does it come and go with certain months or temperature changes? Do you apply local lotions or anything else? What color is the lesion? How old are you? Is any other portion of your body surface afflicted with a similar condition? Please see a dermatologist as soon as you are able. But in the meantime, avoid using harsh soaps, use only the ones that DO NOT CONTAIN soap, there are plenty available over the counter. Put on your undies only when your inguinal region is completely (air) dry. Or use boxers. Avoid the following food: mangoes, chocolate, highly colored and junk food, shrimps and the like, cola drinks, nuts, strawberries, and anything that generally causes itching. Hope to hear from you about improvement. Yours, DrGeorge303
